Driving Directions to Leatherwood Forge

FROM THE NATCHEZ TRACE
You can get on the Natchez Trace Parkway at several locations: Drive out Hwy. 100 from Bellevue and get on the Trace just past the Loveless Café, or take the McCrory Lane exit off I-40 and follow the signs for the Trace, which will come out near the Loveless Café. You can also get on at Hwy. 96 west of Franklin or Hwy. 46 just south of Leipers Fork. Once on the Trace travel to the exit at Hwy. 50. There area no billboards, gas stations and very few road sign on the Trace, so watch carefully for your exit at mile marker 407.7. There will be only one small sign and then a left hand turn for your exit. The distance on the Trace is:

At the bottom of the exit ramp, turn right toward Centerville and go one mile to the small community of Shady Grove. You will see the Duck River Market on your left and Leatherwood Road on your right. Turn right onto Leatherwood Road. Go about 2.5 miles and turn right at the stop sign where Bratton Rd comes into Leatherwood Rd. Continue to wind around across the Duck River Bridge and past Primm Springs Rd. on your left. Continue approximately 1 mile from the intersection with Primm Springs Rd., then turn right onto Dry Prong Rd. Go approximately .10 mile, and Narrow Gate's driveway will be the first one on your right, with a "Narrow Gate at Leatherwood Forge" sign at the entrance. Come across the creek on the concrete bridge and follow the gravel road past the white house on your left, through the gate, and back to the lodge. The lodge will be on your right.

FROM MURFREESBORO, CHATTANOOGA AND ATLANTA VIA I-24
Travel I-24 to the intersection of I-840. Take I-840 west toward Franklin. At the I-65 exit, take I-65 south toward Birmingham/Huntsville. Take exit 53/Saturn Pkwy W/TN-396 W toward Spring Hill/Columbia. Travel 4.4 miles and follow the signs, staying left to exit onto Main St/TN-6/US-31 toward Columbia. Continue to follow TN-6/US-31 for 8.9 miles toward Columbia. When you come to the intersection of TN-6/US-412, turn right onto TN-6/US-412. You will see a McDonalds, a couple of gas stations and a tractor sales business on the corner when you turn. Go approximately 5 miles and turn left onto the ramp for TN 50/Williamsport Pike. At the bottom of the ramp, turn left onto TN-50/Williamsport Pike west toward Centerville. Travel approximately 11.5 miles to the small community of Shady Grove. You will see the Duck River Market on your left and Leatherwood Road on your right. Turn right onto Leatherwood Road. FROM NASHVILLE/BRENTWOOD/FRANKLIN VIA I-65 SOUTH
Travel I-65 South toward Birmingham/Huntsville. Take exit 53/Saturn Pkwy W/TN-396 W toward Spring Hill/Columbia, the first exit after I-840. FROM MEMPHIS/NASHVILLE VIA I-40
Take I-40 east to the Hwy. 50 Centerville exit. Travel about 17 miles until you come to a T in Centerville at Highway 100. Turn right to continue on Hwy. 50, which will turn into Hwy. 100. Go approximately one mile and bear left sharply, following the Hwy. 50 East sign toward Columbia. (Note: Yield to oncoming traffic, which does not stop. This is a dangerous intersection). Go 11 miles and turn left onto Bratton Rd. Travel approximately three miles, wind around and cross the Duck River past Primm Springs Rd. on your left. One mile from Primm Springs Rd. the blacktop road ends. Turn right onto Dry Prong Rd and go about 0.10 miles. Narrow Gate's driveway will be the first one on your right, with a "Narrow Gate at Leatherwood Forge" sign at the entrance. Come across the creek on the concrete bridge and follow the gravel road past the white house on your left, through the gate, and back to the lodge. The lodge will be on your right.

FROM BIRMINGHAM VIA I-65 NORTH
Take I-65 North toward Nashville from Birmingham or Huntsville. Travel to the exit for Hwy. 50/James Campbell Parkway., toward Columbia. One mile past Maury Regional Hospital you will come to the intersection of Hwy. 50 and Hwy. 412. Turn left, following the signs to Hwy. 50 toward Centerville. Go approximately one mile and veer off to your right, still following the signs to Centerville. Travel approximately 14 miles to the small town of Shady Grove. You will see the Duck River Market on your left and Leatherwood Road on your right. Turn right onto Leatherwood Road. Go about 2.5 miles and turn right at the stop sign where Bratton Rd comes into Leatherwood Rd. Continue to wind around across the Duck River Bridge and past Primm Springs Rd. on your left.
